Elastomeric wall joint sealing – E-Series

Application of Series E Expansion Joint Cover Profiles

Agor Company’s Series E profiles are designed for covering wall expansion joints in interior and exterior architectural spaces.
These profiles can be installed in all flush and corner positions. Furthermore, the profiles in this group are manufactured in two types: simple (surface-mounted) and flush (recessed), which can be installed alongside any type of final finishing.
The structure of these profiles features a foldable, flexible central rubber component, designed to allow for the necessary movement during seismic activity of the structure without damaging the profile.

Comparison of E Models

This table introduces and compares three models (EW, EWC, EWZ). Their specifications include model, installation location, space type, position, environmental conditions, installation method, load capacity, and joint width (cm). These models appear to be specifically designed for wall applications.

Key Points:

  • Specialized Wall Installation: All three models, EW, EWC, and EWZ, are exclusively designed for installation in walls. This focus indicates specific design features for this type of application, such as profiles that install well on vertical surfaces.
  • Interior/Exterior Use and Dry/Humid Environments: All three models are suitable for use in interior and exterior spaces and in dry and humid environments. This feature provides high flexibility for use in various weather and environmental conditions, including humid areas like bathrooms or building exteriors.
  • Load Capacity: These products are designed to cover expansion joints in walls and are not expected to bear direct or heavy loads. Their focus is more on aesthetic aspects, moisture protection, or accommodating structural movements within the wall.
  • Joint Width:
    • EW and EWC: These two models have an adjustable joint width of 10 to 15 centimeters. This range offers good flexibility for covering joints of different sizes.
    • EWZ: This model has a fixed joint width of 10 centimeters.
  • Differences in Position and Installation Method:
    • EW: This model is designed for flush positions with a surface-mounted installation method. Surface mounting means the profile sits on the wall surface, which can simplify installation and create a defined appearance.
    • EWC: This model is specifically designed for corner positions with a surface-mounted installation method. This feature makes it ideal for covering joints in interior or exterior wall corners, contributing to the space’s aesthetics.
    • EWZ: This model is designed for flush/corner positions with a recessed installation method. Recessed installation means the profile is installed flush with the wall surface, creating a more integrated and minimalist appearance. It may be preferred in spaces where aesthetics and a non-protruding finish are important. The ability for use in “flush/corner” positions demonstrates this model’s versatility for both joint types.

Overall, Series E is presented as a specialized solution for covering expansion joints in walls, focusing on interior and exterior applications and moisture resistance. The key differences between models lie in the installation position (flush or corner) and installation method (surface-mounted or recessed), allowing users to choose according to their project’s design, functional, and aesthetic needs.
